“We are so pleased to have a person of Quintin's stature to host and address our gala guests,” said MacDella Cooper, founder of MCF. “He is honest…to the point…super confident and also very passionate. He speaks with wisdom and is a very successful man who also has a great deal of compassion for the poor, the widowed and orphans."
“ MacDella's goals to help children in-need is something that is near-and-dear to my heart,” said Primo. “As chairman of the Primo Center for Women and Children, a homeless shelter for moms and their kids in Chicago, I understand the tragedy of children having nowhere to turn for help. My father, who was the first African-American Suffragan Bishop in the Chicago Diocese of the Episcopal Church, was the person that built my foundation for helping children.”
MCF's Gala raises money and awareness about the plight of Liberian orphans and abandoned children. The gala's keynote speaker is Richard Parsons, AOL Time Warner's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.
About MacDella Cooper Foundation
MCF is a 501 C 3 international charitable organization devoted to empowering Liberian youth, especially orphans and abandoned children, by providing education and basic necessities of food, clothing and shelter. The Foundation's founder, MacDella Cooper, escaped the Liberian civil war after the disappearance of her father in 1990. She fled to the Ivory Coast, eventually making her way to the United States. She never forgot how much suffering her countrymen endured. From the US, she began to collect donations of food, clothing, personal products and school supplies to ship to families, friends and orphanages in Monrovia. That effort led her to start the MacDella Cooper Foundation in 2004 to give back in an even more meaningful way to her beloved country.
